VaporSmart SA is a self-adhering air barrier/vapor retarder for roof application that can also serve as a temporary waterproofing membrane to be used during a roof system installation. The membrane consists of SBS modified bitumen. The surfacing of the membrane consists of a woven polypropylene film that provides UV resistance, slip resistance, and surface protection that allows the membrane to temporarily be exposed to the elements. The membrane also consists of a split-release film on the backside to aid in the self-adhering application.

VaporSmart® SA has a UV-protected top surface which allows it to remain exposed to the elements for up to 180 days. The surfacing is engineered with a high-strength woven polypropylene film that provides impact and slip resistance to withstand foot traffic and ongoing construction.
Formulated with SBS-modified asphalt, VaporSmart® SA exhibits best-in-class adhesion to the roof deck and strong lap adhesion (20 pli per ASTM D 1876). The finished membrane is 45 mils thick and 39 inches by 75 feet long, resulting in fewer seams and a faster installation. Compatible with metal decking, VaporSmart® SA is specifically designed to line up with the top flanges of standard Type-B metal decking, with no primer required to adhere to a metal deck.
The rubberized adhesive exhibits self-healing capabilities and accommodates the use of fasteners, staples, nails, and screws while maintaining a watertight seal. Strong adhesive backing with peel-off split release film is simple to install and ensures a strong watertight seal.
