Garland’s HPR Tri-Base Premium is a Styrene Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) polymer modified base sheet reinforced with a high-strength polyester/fiberglass/polyester scrim. Garland’s HPR Tri-Base Premium offers the best of both worlds: superior tensile strength to withstand building movement and elongation properties that allow constant thermal cycling in every building.

Garland’s HPR Tri-Base Premium can be used with Weatherking for a cold-applied Weatherking® system. HPR Tri-Base Premium can also be used as the underlayment for Garland’s high-performance roofing systems or as a base flashing ply for hot and cold-applied roof systems.
The modifier utilized in HPR Tri-Base Premium is SBS (Styrene-Butadiene Styrene). When the SBS rubber is properly dispersed throughout the high-penetration asphalt, the rubber provides increased thermal shock resistance, UV protection, heat resistance, elongation, and low-temperature flexibility. A special high-shear mixer is used in manufacturing to ensure proper dispersion.
Today, roofs are larger and flatter. The incidence of thermal shock damage has increased because of the popularity of lightweight metal decks and increased insulation thickness. As modern engineering practices have imposed greater demands upon roof systems' performance, the quality of conventional roofing reinforcements has deteriorated. HPR Tri-Base Premium puts an end to the “quality slide.” It has the strength and flexibility to meet today’s more demanding requirements.
